Modified Tour ‘07 to Celebrate USA’s Birthday at Central PA Speedway

The BRP/Hoosier Race Tires Modified Tour 07 will celebrate the Fourth of July holiday as part of the 32nd Annual Yankee Doodle 50 at the Central PA Speedway located in Clearfield, PA on Tuesday, July 3rd. The 2007 event is the Tour’s third at the Clearfield facility. Hometown hero, Del Rougeux Jr. captured the inaugural event in 2005 with Brian Swartzlander bringing home the victory in 2006.
Thus far in Series action, Russell King won the Dick Rankin Memorial, which was also the Series opener. In addition the always exciting Kevin Bolland was victorious in the second BRP/Hoosier Race Tires event that was held on the Lernerville Speedway on June 1st.
Current Tour Points Leader Ron Smoker and fellow New York driver Charlie Donk are also expected to be in competition. In addition Slippery Rock, PA driver Dave Murdick is hungry for another victory after tasting it for the first time in 2007 at the Lernerville Speedway this past Friday night. And you can never count out Ohio veterans Rex King and Jim Weller Jr.

Kodiak Memorial Added To Schedule

The BRP/Hoosier Race Tires Modified Tour 07 is proud to announce that they will sanction the 15th Annual Kodiak Memorial on Sunday, July 15th at the Tri-City Speedway in Franklin, PA. The 30-lap event, which honors the memory of popular Modified car owner, Bob “Kodiak†Graham, will pay the winner of the event $1,300.00. In addition, the race will be the final event of the Schwab’s Ford Big Block Modified Challenge Series, which is co-hosted by both the Tri-City Speedway and the Lernerville Speedway.
“The Kodiak Memorial is run in memory of Bob “Kodiak†Graham who one of the most popular Modified car owners in Western PA and Eastern OH.
The inaugural Kodiak Memorial event was held in 1993 at the Lernerville Speedway and was won by Bobby Kraus of Erie, PA. The 1994 and 1995 events were also held at Lernerville with Scott Gurdak of Corry, PA and the late Dick Rankin of Fairmount City, PA capturing the wins.
In 1995 the event was moved to the Tri-City Speedway, which is co-owned by Graham’s son, Mike. The late Jeff Hoffman of nearby Franklin, PA was a four-time winner of the Kodiak Memorial as he was victorious in 1996, 1997, 1999 and 2000. Other winners include Tommy Kristyak in 1998, three time BRP/Hoosier Racing Tire Champion Ron Smoker in 2001 and 2003, defending Tri-City Speedway Champion Kevin Bolland in 2002 and 2006, Del Rougeux Jr. in 2004 and Andy Priest in 2005.
Thus far in BRP/Hoosier Racing Tire Modified Tour 07 action Russell King and Kevin Bolland have captured feature wins with King grabbing the series’ opener at Tri-City and Bolland getting the checkered at the Lernerville Speedway on June 1st.
In addition to Russell King and Bolland defending Sharon Speedway Modified Champion Brian Swartzlander will be in competition. Swartzlander has been nearly unstoppable at the Lernerville Speedway where he already has five feature wins. New York invaders Ron Smoker and Charlie Donk are also expected to attend.
