Modified Tour Announces Additional Dates

by Lou Long, PR Director

Officials of the BRP/Hoosier Race Tire Modified Tour and Expo (OH) Speedway are pleased to announce that the mighty Big Block Modifieds will return to the Trumbull County Fairgrounds on Thursday, July 2, 2009. “We are looking forward to our return to Expo,” said Modified Tour President Ray Baselj. The show will be part of the annual Trumbull County Fair, lending a bit of nostalgia to the event. “Auto racing at the county fairs was always a traditional part of the sport,” he added, “and the Modified Tour has always performed well at the big, 5/8 mile track.” “It should be plenty of fun for the entire family.” Rex King (2006) and Russell King (2007) were winners at the track located nearest to their Bristolville, OH home.

In addition, some media outlets may not have been informed of the earlier addition of Eriez (PA) Speedway to the Modified Tour schedule. The Modified Tour will return on Sunday, June 28, 2009. In three prior appearances, wins were scored by Rick Hall (2000), Rex King (2007), and Jeremiah Shingledecker (2008).

The Expo and Eriez dates bring the Modified Tour schedule to eleven races for 2009. Additional dates are still under negotiation.
