Officials of The Modified Tour, Inc. and Mercer Raceway Park are pleased to announce that the touring series will return to the track on Saturday, June 19, 2010.
“There was some confusion and concern when the track’s 2010 opener was switched from a Modified Tour event to a UFo Late Model race,” said Modified Tour President, Lou Long. “However, we continued negotiations with Vicki Emig and reached agreement on terms for a substitute date.”
The Modifieds have had a long tradition at Mercer Raceway Park. Although the track hosts weekly 358 Modified competition, there will be several Big Block Modified specials during 2010 at the Park. Nearby Sharon Speedway has agreed not to run the Big Blocks on June 19, so a banner field is expected.
The Modified Tour presented two programs at Mercer Raceway Park in 2009, with victories going to three-time Tour champion Rex King, Sr. and Jeremiah Shingledecker.
